Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is an unconventional Strategy RPG that features free movement on a gridless map. Summoning your Phantom squad members during battle by "Confining" their souls to objects on the map is a unique mechanic, as the object you Confine them to informs their stats. Phantoms can also "Confire" with special gadget items for slow-moving but hard-hitting attacks. Additionally, Marona can "Confriend" with Phantoms to transform her appearance and access special attacks.

Marona, a young girl with the power to speak to Phantoms, the spirits of those who have passed on, sails the ocean world of Ivoire alongside her dear friend, the Phantom Ash, providing aid to those in need. However, when a fleet of ghost ships attacks and separates them, Marona and her new friend Apricot must assemble the legendary crew that defeated the ghost ships once before.

With over 50 characters and 300 skills to master, Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is an adventure that offers players the freedom to create a team of allies from a diverse array of unit types and send them into battle. The fight's outcome is limited only by the player's imagination, as the Confine system allows Phantoms to combine with and possess items to battle alongside the player.

Despite the quest to save her dear friend Ash, Marona's journey is filled with light-hearted moments and the opportunity to forge new friendships along the way.
