In the bustling streets of Mikado, only the resilient can endure. For one man, a botched heist would forever alter his life. Set during Japan's Edo period, Kamiwaza follows the story of Ebizo, an amateur thief who dreams of stealing from the wealthy to aid the less fortunate. During his first foray, Ebizo and his mentor, Ainosuke, witness their own men taking the lives of innocent civilians. Horrified by this display of violence, Ainosuke urges Ebizo to escape with the sole survivor - a young girl.

A decade later, Ebizo has remained steadfast in his moral principles, living a fulfilling life with Suzuna, the girl he took under his wing as his own daughter. However, this sense of security is shattered when Suzuna falls ill. In order to purchase the vital medicine she needs, Ebizo faces a daunting financial burden. Torn between his conscience and the necessity to provide for his loved one, Ebizo reluctantly returns to the underworld of Mikado, vowing to steal only for the sake of those less fortunate.
